English Diary: I’m Enjoying Sake in Japan! 20220510 #2-88

Hello everyone. Welcome back to my channel. This is the Nomadonomado English diary for the 10th of May 2022.

Yesterday, I went shopping again and bought a bottle of sake. It was Bijofu Tokubetsu Junmai brewed in Kochi prefecture. 

It was nice. The rice polish ratio was sixty per cent, so it had a strong rice flavour. It was less sweet and the acidity was a bit stronger than I had imagined. It could be good when you drink it after being slightly heated as well as chilled. 

I love sake. I missed it so much during the pandemic, that I would like to try as many different types of sake as I can. I also want to try Japanese wine because it’s impossible to buy it in Canada. 

Today, my husband will fly to Kenya from London. I hope everything goes well with him. 

Thinking about it now, this is the first time that we are not together since March 2020 when Canada went into lockdown. 

After the pandemic happened, my husband stopped commuting to the office. He began to work from home all the time. I guess lots of other people might have experienced it too. It was the beginning of being with your family 24/7. 

Before the pandemic, he travelled to Africa two or three times every year but business trips were not allowed by his organisation during the pandemic. So it will be the first business trip for him since March 2020. 

His trip may be more complicated than before because of all kinds of restrictions and rules related to Covid-19. Still, I can feel his excitement about this trip after such a long pause. 

He has lots of friends and business partners in Africa and meeting those people for the first time in more than two years could be intense.
