English Diary My Flight was Changed without Notice! 20220428 #2-77
Hello everyone, welcome back to my channel. This is the Nomadonomado English Diary for the 28th of April 2022.
In the previous episode, I said that I was going to Japan in two weeks. Funny enough, after I recorded that episode, my husband happened to check his app for air Canada and found that my flight was changed.
We were planning to leave England on the same day, the 10th of May. He is going to Kenya and I am going to Japan. But now, they changed my flight.
My flight was initially on the 10th but it was changed to the 12th, which didn’t work for us. We booked the flights on the same day because we could travel to the airport together.
It gave us not only an inconvenience for travelling to the airport, but also an trouble of reorganising my PCR test within 72 hours of the flight. They made our life complicated.
For me travelling on the 12th doesn’t work at all. We called the customer centre even though we had to wait 30 minutes until we reached an operator to talk with. And we managed to change my flight to the 6th.
We asked the operator about all possible options. But there is no better option than the same flight on the 6th. Otherwise, it would have a horrible flight such as the one including 9 hours of transit in Mumbai or 15 hours of transit in Ethiopia.
We were upset with the change and inconvenience caused as a result and also that they didn’t inform us that they had changed my flight. If my husband had not checked the app on his phone by accident yesterday, we wouldn’t have known about the change even now.
Anyway, there are not many things that we can do. The airline companies have such a big power that we just need to accept it. That’s life, as they say in French – C’est la vie.
The good thing is that I will be able to spend more days in Japan. If I am tested negative for the PCR test within 72 hours though.
As I told you in the previous episode, the PCR test within 72 hours before the flight is another hassle. We went to the pharmacy to inquire about the PCR test for travellers because apparently, some pharmacies provide PCR tests in the shop in England.
Disappointingly, that shop doesn’t provide that kind of service. The lady behind the counter said that fewer and fewer people do PCR tests, so the number of places where we can do PCR tests is also decreasing, which is another annoying fact.
Alright, I think I have complained enough today. Thank you for listening as always. I will be happy to receive your comments, feedback and questions.
And don’t forget to visit my website where you can find today’s script. Thank you again and until next time, goodbye.
